The Sabily-wininstaller for test

July 23rd, 2009 | Sohaib Afifi | Linux, Uncategorized, Windows, development

I have just recompiled the wubi installer to work with Sabily (Ubuntu ME). This version works with the Tayba version (9.04) just for test

Please test it and report about your experience. It is recommended to let it download the ISO for you.

The files in the .disk folder on the LiveCd must be configured because the installer retrieve information from it !!

I also need -if you can- some artwork like the header and icons for each type of sabily DVDs (Small ,Full and Full with recitations..)

You can download the binary file from this link. The application accept the –test parameter for test and it save a log file in the temporary folder.

I am waiting for your feedbacks on sabily.team newsletter

yes , then build the iso image but you will loose the boot !! or copy all the content to a partition root , if the installer detect the right info file it will start with a menu window (three button) like the Ubuntu umenu one .

salaam brother thanx for the help

but i want to know can i chagne the info in the file to sabily to make it work or can i extract the contents of the dvd to a folder and put the wubi you modified in it to make it work thanks again
  • Normally you have just to place the installer in the same folder where you have downloaded the ISO, but the Sabily 9.04 cd contains wrong information about the distro, i built it for the next version nchalah but this cant prevent you to try it with some hacks

the file “.disk/info” must contain “Sabily” as the name of the distro

If you want to try it with the 9.04 i can help you, just look on the log file after adding “–log ./file.txt” option or open the default one from the %temp% dir for more information, and send it to me if you can!!

dont forget to add –test option through your tests
